Behavior Modification & Training
At Feeling Pawsitive, we believe that training is about more than just "good manners." It is a vital tool for communication and emotional healing. Traditional training often focuses on what a pet is doing, but our approach focuses on how a pet is feeling.
Behavior Modification & Training
At Feeling Pawsitive, we believe training is about more than “good manners.”
It’s a powerful tool for communication, emotional healing, and trust-building. Traditional training often focuses on what a pet is doing.
Our approach focuses on how your pet is feeling. Using Pawsitive reinforcement and science-based behavior techniques, we help shift your pet’s internal emotional state... from fear or anxiety to safety, confidence, and calm.

Our Training Philosophy: Feelings First
Most behavioral challenges—such as reactivity, house soiling, or aggression—are not acts of defiance. They are signals of an underlying emotional struggle.
Our training doesn’t just manage symptoms.
We work to resolve the root cause.
We don’t give "commands" to be obeyed; we provide cues that invite a dialogue. A cue is a signal that tells your pet: "If you do this, something wonderful will happen." This reduces the pressure on your pet and turns learning into a collaborative, stress-free experience.
We use specialized techniques to change your pet's "gut reaction" to things that scare them. By pairing a scary trigger (like a vacuum or a stranger) with high-value rewards, we help their brain re-classify those triggers from "scary" to "safe and rewarding."
We never use fear, force, or pain. Instead, we use what motivates your pet...treats, toys, or praise...to reinforce the behaviors we want to see. This builds a pet who wants to participate because they feel successful and supported.

Why Training with a Veterinary Focus Matters
Because we are a veterinary behavior clinic, our training is medically informed. We understand how pain, neurology, and anxiety affect a pet’s ability to learn.
If a pet is in a state of high stress, their “thinking brain” shuts down, making traditional training impossible. Our team ensures your pet is in the right emotional headspace to learn, sometimes combining behavior modification with medical support to achieve the best results.
